Alison Murphy

I graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Family Studies with a minor in Psychology from the University of New Mexico in Fall 2017. More recently, I graduated with a Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Northern Arizona University in Fall 2020. My area of professional interest is working with adults through a variety of presenting concerns. I am still finding my way in regards to a preferred theoretical orientation, however, I am enjoying the DBT framework due to immersing myself in training and involvement in the BHIOP group.

My main objective to accomplish throughout my time in the field as a Clinician would be to create and hold a non-judgmental space for clients to feel validated and heard, as well as to contribute to reducing the stigma surrounding mental health. In my free time, I enjoy cooking, spending time with my loved ones and puppy. The true essence of my job is when I am able to create therapeutic alliances with my clients which fosters the ability for each individual to gain insight into their experiences.
