Current Adult Group Therapy Tracks
Aftercare/Recovery Skills Support Group:
Aftercare is about recovery support. This group is a means of promoting continued recovery maintenance for those who are interested in additional support or reinforcement of previously learned skills. This group explores the 8 dimensions of wellness including physical, intellectual, financial, environmental, spiritual, social, occupational, and emotional. This group is meant to provide a connection between recovery skills and tools with real-life situations related to overall wellness.
Caregiver Support Group
The caregiver support group was created to offer adults caring for a loved one with physical and/or mental health concerns a space to take time for themselves, get and give support for this unique set of responsibilities, and feel less isolated. During every group, we share coping strategies, reminders for self-care, resources, validation, and empathy. Current members express appreciation for one another, often stating they feel less alone because of the group. New members can join at any time and there is no predetermined number of sessions or end time.
Coping with COVID-19 Support Community:
The COVID support group gives adults isolated due to the pandemic a virtual space to connect with others about COVID-related and other life stressors. Any clients who could use some extra support and who are willing to offer support to others are welcome to join. Current group members genuinely care about one another and express gratitude for each other often. We share coping strategies, resources, validation, and empathy. New members can join at any time and there is no predetermined number of sessions or end time.
Emotion Regulation Skills Group:
The Emotion Regulation Skills class is a 6-month course designed to introduce and teach concepts related to mindfulness, interpersonal effectiveness, emotion regulation, and distress tolerance. The goal is that at the end of the six months, you will be equipped to effectively manage the intense emotions that you experience and the interpersonal situations that may be contributing to them. In addition to specific skills, we work on developing the ability to identify problematic patterns of behavior and we discuss ways to implement skills taught in class out in the “real world.”
Seeking Safety Support Group:
Seeking Safety is a 6-month program that meets once a week to address unsafe coping strategies related to PTSD, anxiety, depression, and addiction cravings. The goal of this group is to increase awareness that substance abuse prevents healing from PTSD and to learn how to replace unsafe strategies with safe coping skills.
