May is Mental Health Awareness Month
Each year, millions of Americans face the reality of living with a mental illness. During the month of May, and throughout the whole year, Sage is committed to raising awareness about mental health and providing resources for you and your loved ones.
Recognize Early Signs
Mental health issues are common and can affect anyone. It’s important to seek help right away if you think something may be wrong, rather than waiting and allowing the issue to possibly get worse. Warning signs can be an early indicator of a potential problem:
- Change in sleeping habits
- Lack of energy
- Increase in smoking, drinking, or drug use
- Severe mood swings
- Unexplained aches and pains
- Feeling unusually confused or upset
- Inability to complete daily tasks
Seek Support
Remember, you are not alone. Thousands of people are experiencing these feelings, too, and are reaching out to get the help they need to improve their emotional well-being and feel more energized in their daily lives. It takes courage, but speaking up and seeking help is the first step to recovering. If you’re ready to take the next step, we have immediate availability for the following outpatient programs and specialty services:
- Acute Psychiatric Outpatient Program: If you’re dealing with uncontrolled symptoms of a mental illness or substance use disorder but you aren’t in need of 24-hour care, APOP may be right for you.
- Substance Use Disorder Intensive Outpatient Program: Are you living with an addiction? Recovery is possible, and our SUDIOP offers a variety of services to help you through the process.
- Behavioral Health Intensive Outpatient Program: Ready to improve your self-worth and daily functioning while engaging with like-minded individuals? If once-a-week therapy isn’t enough to meet your behavioral health needs, our BHIOP may be right for you.
- Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation: Are you still depressed despite your medication? Have you tried switching medications multiple times with no positive results? Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation may be right for you.
- Adult Support Groups: Group therapy services at Sage cover a multitude of topics, making sure you can find a group regardless of what mental health issue you’re experiencing.
In addition to the services offered at our clinic, we also have free resources, wellness and educational blogs, quizzes, and meditation guides on our website.
If you or a loved one are experiencing symptoms of a mental illness, call us to schedule an evaluation. We’ll work together to create a treatment plan that addresses your unique needs.
What’s New at Sage?
The Truth About Treatment Programs
Some individuals may put off receiving help because of stereotypes surrounding treatment programs. If you are thinking about getting help for substance use or a behavioral health disorder, it’s important to find out the truth about treatment. In order to do this, you need to know that many of the things you’ve heard are actually misconceptions or myths.
New Acute Psychiatric Outpatient Program
Inpatient or residential care is not always necessary, or possible, for certain individuals. If you don’t require 24-hour supervision but you’re struggling with uncontrolled symptoms of a mental health disorder, the ability to accomplish activities of daily living, and/or substance abuse, APOP may be right for you.
Coping with COVID-19 Support Community
This therapy group currently has room for new members!
